Riders
These are the guys who have the "easy" job of just pedaling their bikes.
Crew
And this is the crew that has the hard job of doing everything else.
Wayne Doran
Wayne is a lifelong bicycle industry veteran who transplanted from the East Coast to the West. Beginning in a bicycle/trophy shop and now heading up product development for leading bicycle companies, he feels the love for anything with two wheels. One last thing, the Ladies love his beard!
Duane Fernandez
Duane returns for his 2nd RAAM, this time as our crew chief. He's a five time ultra race crew member, an avid cyclist on MTB and road bike, with motocross thrown in the middle of annual activities. He's also a 508 finisher, with multiple triathlons and a couple marathons under his belt. He's looking forward to crewing the team that will break the record.
Keith Kohan
Keith joins us after being the race official who kept an eye on us for 3000 miles last year. He's addicted to Ultraracing and Ultracycling, has done Paris-Brest-Paris two times and many other long Brevets and cycle tours. Winner of the Ring of Fire 24 hour time trial and Race Across Oregon in his age group. Three times officiating RAAM and crewed RAAM for the 60+ record holder.
Phil Kramer
Phil has always been a fan of RAAM and has watched it for many years. He watched John Howard race from Santa Monica pier and was hooked. He's always wanted to be a part of the race, and that dream became a reality in 2014 when he crewed for us. Phil has been an endurance cyclist for the past 20 years racing different events like the furnace Creek 508 and multiple 24 hour solo mountain bike races. He was able to qualify and go to the World Championships in Whistler Canada 2004 finishing second in his age group.
Frank Pyle
Frank is returning, for this 3rd RAAM, with several of the same team members; bringing with him his expert navigation skills, road safety, and level-headedness. He has been a competitive and recreational athlete in nordic ski racing, snowboarding, road biking and MTB for the past 26 years.
Ed Torres
Ed returns for his 2nd RAAM as one of our top-level mechanics. He has been surrounded by racing bikes since the late 1980s. Today he lives in Vermont working on bikes for elite athletes, and volunteers at the JISP (Junior Instructional Snowsports Program) program at Bromley Mountain to help the surrounding school kids ski.
Mark Wagner
A college Lecturer at CSU Long Beach, and former Director of Recreation & Community Services for the City of Los Alamitos, Mark Wagner has successfully competed in cycling events from Santa Barbara to St. George Utah. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and passion for the sport as an instructor and trainer.
Patti Wagner
An accomplished cyclist, coach and personal trainer, Patti Wagner has competed on Intercollegiate Cross Country, and Gymnastic Teams, and has developed Coed Soccer Leagues and instructional programs for ages 3 to adults. Her competitive background and knowledge of cycling has enabled Patti to provide both group and individualized instruction to all ages.
Jordan White
Jordan has been a mechanic for the majority of his life, and will be joining us again for RAAM this year. While he can be serious at times when necessary, he really loves to have a good time and joke around. Being a career mechanic has taught him to find the solution no matter what the problem. A few of his favorite things include Mountain Dew, Keebler Fudge Stripes and Fried Chicken, especially dark meat. Don't be afraid to say something to him if you see him, the word shy doesn't fit in his vocabulary!
